About Consider The Lilies Foster Care and Family Support
Our foster care story and why we started
Consider the Lilies began after we entered the foster care world and saw firsthand how many families are trying to survive with little to no support. We met foster parents who were exhausted and overwhelmed, and we met biological parents who were trying to meet complex requirements while carrying trauma, grief, and instability. We also met caseworkers and agencies who cared deeply but were stretched thin.

Our mission to strengthen families and support children
Our mission is to strengthen families so children can experience stability, dignity, and hope. We do that by providing practical resources, encouragement, and personal support to foster families and biological families.
Child welfare system support when families fall through the cracks
We realized something quickly. The cracks in the child welfare system are not always caused by a lack of compassion. Many times they are caused by capacity. When systems are overloaded, families can get a list of requirements but not the hands on support to accomplish them. Foster families can be asked to take on more than they can sustain. Children can lose stability because the adults around them do not have enough support.
Family preservation and reunification support with dignity
We believe foster families should not have to carry the burden alone. We believe biological families deserve support and dignity as they work toward healing and reunification. We believe prevention matters, and many families can stay together safely when they have transportation, community support, resources, and someone in their corner.
